Detailed Solution

The Indian Statutory Commission, also known as the Simon Commission after its chairman Sir John Simon. The British government constituted it in 1927 to study India's current constitution and government administration. The major problem with the commission was that it did not have a single Indian as a member of the commission that would decide its future. In 1928 Simon Commission arrived in India  and was met with severe protests and demonstrations by the Congress party and the Muslim League and greeted with the slogan 'Go Back, Simon.'
