Detailed Solution

The Domestic Violence Act was enacted in 2005. The Domestic Violence Act was first presented in 1999 by the Lawyers Collective, a group of lawyers, law students, and activists in response to nationwide consultations. The law was filed with the House of Representatives in 2002. However, the plan omitted many of the suggestions other groups offered. Following that, many groups used their platforms to criticise the Standing Parliamentary Committee for passing new laws. In 2002, the Standing Committee's recommendations were sent to the Rajya Sabha. Finally, a new measure was introduced in Parliament in 2005 and became the nation's criminal code.
