Detailed Solution

2KI(aq)+HgI2(s)K2HgI4(aq)or2K++2I+HgI2(s)2K++[HgI4]2

As a result of complex ion formation, the number of mole particles in the solution decreases in the ratio 4 : 3. So ΔTf decreases until all the I- ions are consumed with 0.05 moles of HgI2. The excess of HgI2 remain insoluble. Hence after 0.05 moles of HgI2, the freezing point of solution remains constant.
