Resonance rules:

→ The structure in which all the atoms having octet configuration is more stable.

→ More electronegative atom (Eg. Oxygen)carries negative charge is more stable.

→ More electronegative atom carries +ve charge is highly unstable

→ Less electronegative atom (Eg. carbon) carries positive charge is more stable and less electronegative atom carries -ve charge is unstable

→ Wothout chage resonance structures are more stable than the charge containing resonance structures.

→ Single charge resonance structure are more stable than the charge saperated resonance structures

→ Like charges closer to each other is unstable than the like charges far away from each other

→ Opposite charges close to each other is stable than the opposite charges far away from each other.
