Indentured labour is a Bonded labour under contract to work for an employer for a specific period of time.
Indentured labour was an evil practice resulting from colonialism in Europe. Indentured laborers were treated like slaves. They did not have any protection rights. No labour codes and laws were made for them. If any indentured labourers wanted to return to their homeland, they were abducted by agents. And if they were caught escaping, they were severely punished. Suppose they could not complete the task; they were punished harshly and forced to work for long hours. Indentured labourers have to serve in hazardous situations like Mines. For which no protocol for their safety was followed.
