Detailed Solution

Indentured labour means bonded labour. Historically, apprenticeships have been financed by this type of labour. It was used whenever an apprentice agreed to do unpaid work for a master craftsperson to learn a trade or get expertise in another line of work. Except for being paid in knowledge rather than money, it was akin to a current internship. It is referred to as "indentured labour" or "indentured slavery" when a person or an indenture decides to work for someone else without being paid. The easiest way to translate "indentured labour" is "bound labour." This is true because the contracts or bonds these employees would sign would outline their employment terms, including the length of their employment and the amount of any loans or other compensation they would be expected to repay.
