Detailed Solution

Indentured labour migration was abolished in 1921.
In India, registered workers were employed by contractors who promised a trip back to India after working for five years in the fields of their employers. Most of the Indian workers come from the modern provinces east of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the arid regions of Tamil Nadu. The main settlements of the Indian settlers were the Caribbean islands, Mauritius, and Fiji. The nineteenth-century commitment has been described as a new system of slavery. Living and working conditions were poor, and there were few legal rights. By the 1900s, Indian leaders began to oppose the migration process as it was oppressive and cruel. Thus this system was abolished in 1921.
