Detailed Solution

India got the title of Secular State in the 48th amendment of the constitution.
The word "secular" has been incorporated into the opening statement. It was not included in the preamble of the first version of the Constitution of India; however, it was inserted later on by the 42nd constitutional amendment, and the secular nature of India was made evident. Since there is no official religion in India, the country can be considered secular. The government does not actively support or oppose any particular religious practice. People can pick and practice whichever religion they see fit. The Indian government accords followers of all faiths with the same level of courtesy and respect.
