On midnight August 14-15,1947, India was declared independent along with our neighbouring country Pakistan. With the grant of independence, Britishers put forward a few witty conditions to be accepted. One of them was to build a second Nation. In case of religious disputes or if anyone didn’t want to accept the Indian constitution, they were free to move to another part. Religious clashes and riots are nothing new in our country, but the fire of religious riots of 1947 while migrating was something India still carries as a freshly scarred wound.
