Detailed Solution

Indian industrial growth increased after the First World War because of new technological changes. During World War I, British industries were focused on meeting the military's military needs. This has led to a decline in purchases from Manchester. This created a gap in the Indian market which was closed by Indian industries. During the war, Indian factories had to supply supplies to the military. Industrial production in India increased during the First World War because British mills became busy supporting military supplies and imports from Manchester declined, while Indian mills suddenly had a huge domestic market to offer.
