Ingestion happens through which organ?

Ingestion is the process of consuming food. It happens through the mouth, which helps to take in food. Ingestion is the step before digestion. The nose helps to breathe in and breathe out the air during respiration. There are no digestion activities associated with the nose. After food gets partially digested, with some starch converted to sugar, it moves to the throat (food pipe) and continues to the stomach. The stomach is where protein and carbohydrates get reduced to smaller forms by enzymes.
