Detailed Solution

Electrically charged particles called ions can be positively or negatively charged. Ion charge is dependent on bond creation and sharing. An electrically neutral chemical must have an overall ionic formula that is electrically neutral, that is, devoid of charge.

Ions combine their charges to create molecules that are electrically neutral. Ionic bonds are formed when a positively charged ion and an electrically negatively charged ion share an electron in order to neutralise each other and establish the bonds. For instance, calcium chloride is the compound product of the interaction between calcium and chlorine.

It is made up of Ca+2 cations and Cl- anions, which are stable until their valence shells are full. Its ionic formula is CaCl2, which represents the neutral union of these ions. Salts have no electrical charge (of course all matter is electrically neutral). If a species has an anion, it also needs cations to balance the charge.

Hence, option A is correct.
