A convex lens is curved inward on both sides, as shown in the figure. O is the optical centre of the lens,  F1 and F2 are the focal lengths of the convex lens. When an object is placed at infinity,  the rays are almost parallel to the principal axis of the lens. Parallel rays reaching the lens will converge at the focus F2 as shown in the figure. The formed image is real, inverted, highly reduced, and point-sized.
