Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
The manufacturing of cotton shirts is a long process. The cotton from the cotton balls is first handpicked from the plants in the fields. This process is known as picking. In order to separate the fibres from the seeds, they are then combed. This process is known as ginning. The fibres are drawn out and twisted from the cotton mass by the process of spinning. It can be done on a takli, charkha or by a spinning machine. The cotton fabric is woven by arranging two sets of yarns at right angles to one another by the process of weaving. The fabric obtained is stitched using a sewing machine and the shirt is made.
