The force acting on an object has the ability to change the shape of the object. A balanced force is a type of force which is equal in magnitude along any direction but acts opposite in direction. Balanced forces do not cause any change in the position of the object. Unbalanced forces are forces which acts on an object in the opposite direction as well but the magnitude of force becomes different. An unbalanced force changes the position of the object.  Consider a balloon squeezed in between the palms of the hands of a person. The balloon tends to contract a little. Thus force changes the shape of the object. The size of the object is altered when it is given an elongation or a compression.
