When we heat a magnet, it causes distortion in the magnet and the poles get displaced and hence the material is demagnetized. When we repeatedly hammer on a magnet, the poles get disturbed, lose their orientation, and thus magnetic moments no longer exist. Thus the magnet will get demagnetized.
