We can separate the mixture of chalk powder and common salt by first putting the mixture in
water. Common salt will dissolve with the water, and chalk powder will not dissolve in water. Now, using the process of filtration, chalk powder can be separated from the above mixture. When the mixture is filtered, the insoluble chalk powder is retained on the filter paper and the salt solution passes through it and gets collected. The salt solution can be evaporated to separate the salt from the salt solution. The water evaporates, leaving behind the salt.
