Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
Thunderstorms are caused by heavy rain, thunder and lightning. The starting point of a tornado is a thunderstorm. A tornado forms a funnel-shaped column of air. Cold air sinks down from the storm cloud and causes tornadoes. Tornados are not common in India. A tornado forms a large thunderstorm. Inside the thunderclouds, humid and warm air rises, while cool air falls along with rain or hail. These conditions can cause spinning air currents inside the cloud. Although the spinning currents start horizontally, they can turn in the vertical direction and drop down from the cloud, becoming a tornado.
