Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
Bases that are soluble in water are known as alkalis whereas the bases that are insoluble in water are not alkalis. A class of chemicals known as bases neutralises acids. Alkalis are soluble bases. They produce solutions with pH values greater than 7, which feel slippery, and soapy. Sodium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, sodium hydrogen carbonate (sodium bicarbonate), sodium hypochlorite, and ammonia are a few typical examples. Therefore it is said that all alkalis are bases that are soluble in water but not all bases are alkali.
