Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
Aquatic plants can take in carbon dioxide from the air or water, depending on if their leaves float or are underwater. The leaves of floating plants, like lotus and water lilies, get direct sunlight. Basically, these types of aquatic plants do not need special adaptations to perform photosynthesis. Luckily, for aquatic plants, carbon dioxide can be found dissolved in water. So, most carbon dioxide finds its way into the water through the process of diffusion, the motion of atoms and molecules from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentration. Aquatic plants or plants that live in water utilise carbon dioxide gas dissolved in water to carry through photosynthesis. Thus, stomata pores allow the movement of gases in and out of the plant cells. Therefore, we can say that aquatic plants get their carbon dioxide from air or water for photosynthesis.
