Humans can generally sense sound at frequencies between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz. Although this range shrinks as a person ages. Prolonged exposure to loud noises within the audible range has long been known to cause hearing loss.
Based on frequency, there are three types of sound waves,
●       Audible sound wave
●       Infrasonic sound wave
●       Ultrasonic sound wave
Audible sound wave ranges from frequency 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Sound less than 20 Hz is known as infrasonic sound, while sound more than 20 kHz is called ultrasonic sound.
