Detailed Solution

The given statement is true.
A force is defined as a push or a pull, which either causes or ceases motion in an object. It is also responsible for changing the direction of motion of a moving body. If the resultant of all the forces acting on the body add up to zero, then the forces are called balanced forces and the body is said to be in equilibrium. Balanced forces do not change the state of the motion of the body but unbalanced forces do. If the body is at rest, it continues to be at rest when balanced forces are applied. Balanced forces are instead capable of changing the shape or size of an object.
