Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
No new substance is formed in a physical change and it can be reversed. A new substance is formed in a chemical change and it cannot be reversed. When a candle is burning, the melting wax which comes at the sides of the candle can be collected and it will solidify on cooling. This wax can be used again. This is a physical change. The wax which is used up for burning produces new substances like carbon dioxide, water vapour, heat and light. This is a chemical change.  So, both physical and chemical changes occur in the burning of a candle.
