Cotton and jute are examples of natural fibres. They are both obtained from plants.
Cotton is harvested from the fruits of the cotton plant. Once the fruits are mature, they burst  open. The seeds covered with cotton fibres are harvested for further processing.
Jute fibre is harvested from the stem of the jute plant. First, the stems of the harvested plants are immersed in water and left to rot. Then, the fibres are separated from the stem by hand.
