When sugar crystals, which are made up of millions of sugar molecules, are dissolved in water then although the sugar crystals disappear but no new substance is formed. The sugar molecules get dispersed within the spaces of water molecules but each sugar molecule remains the same. Therefore no chemical change has occurred.
