First, all three solutions are kept in test tubes. Then, red litmus paper is put in the solution turn by turn. The colour of red litmus paper is changed to blue by the solution, which is basic. Then the blue litmus paper obtained is dipped in the remaining two solutions, and the solution which turns blue litmus red is acidic. The solution which does not affect any litmus paper is neutral or distilled water.
