Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.  Filter paper cannot be used to separate colloids as pores of filter paper are large. Colloidal solution contains a particle of size 1 nanometer to 1 micrometre. And the size of pores in an ordinary filter paper is larger than 1 nm. So when we use filter paper for separation of colloid solution then filter paper doesn't give filtrate. Hence a colloid solution cannot be separated by filtration.
