Detailed Solution

The above statement is True.
Hunting tigers and other animals for centuries was part of India's royal court and nobility culture. The new forest laws banned hunting for native forest dwellers. Those caught hunting were now charged with poaching. While forest laws stripped people of their traditional hunting rights, big game hunting became a sport. Many Mughal paintings depicted princes and emperors hunting. Under colonial rule, however, the amount of hunting got so bad that many species went towards extinction. The British viewed the animals as symbols of a wild, primitive, and savage society.
