Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
The crystalline lens (eye lens) of the eye is harmed in cases of cataracts. As a result, the eye lens develops a milky haze. The only available treatment is cataract surgery. The crystalline lens is a transparent, biconvex lens in the eye that, along with the cornea, helps in the refraction of the light to focus on the retina. The lens is made of transparent proteins called crystallins. The average concentration of lens proteins is about twice that of other intracellular proteins and is thought to play a structural role in the lens.
