If the current flowing in the straight wire is increasing then the direction of the induced current will be clockwise if a circular metallic loop is kept above the wire AB.
An induced current will be flowing through the straight wire as current in it is changing (increasing). Fleming’s Right hand rule is used to determine the direction of the induced current. It states that if we arrange our thumb, forefinger and middle finger of the right hand perpendicular to each other, then the thumb points towards the direction of the motion of the conductor relative to the magnetic field, the forefinger points towards the direction of the magnetic field and the middle finger points towards the direction of the induced current. Because the current in the straight wire changes, the magnetic flux coupled with the loop changes, and therefore induced current is generated in it. Using Fleming's Right Hand Rule, the current passing through the loop will be counter clockwise.
