Detailed Solution

The above statement is True.
In 1905, the British government in India proposed to reserve 2/3 of the forests. In Bastar, the colonial government proposed to reserve two-thirds of the forests. They put an end to shifting cultivation, hunting, and the collection of forest produce to reserve this land. The colonial officials demanded free labour and goods from the villagers and increased the revenue. The villagers were allowed to stay in the reserved forests if they provided unpaid labour for the forest department.
