The motion in which all points in the body move the same distance in a given interval of time is called translatory motion. A rotational motion in which all points in the body move in a circle and its center lies in a straight line.
An object possessing translatory and rotatory motion along a surface is called rolling motion. When a football player hits the ball then it rotates and moves in the forward direction. Hence, the ball poses rotational motion due to rotational and translatory motion due to all parts of the ball moving the same distance at the same time.
