Detailed Solution

The above statement is True.
Galvanization or galvanising is the process of applying zinc coating to steel or iron to prevent rusting. This zinc coating acts as a protective barrier which resists corrosion. The most common method nowadays is hot dip galvanising, in which steel sections are immersed in a bath of molten zinc. The galvanising process uses zinc instead of other metals because zinc oxidises and undergoes acid corrosion. It is “sacrificially” to steel. It means that when zinc gets in touch with steel, oxygen and acids will attack the zinc rather than the steel beneath it. Thus zinc is sacrificed for steel.
