A myopic(also known as short-sightedness) person is a person who has myopia and can see nearby objects clearly, But he cannot see distant objects clearly. The retina is that part of the eye that provides a surface for image formation. In myopia, what happens is light rays entering the eyes converge too soon and are brought to focus before reaching the retina. Hence the image cannot be formed on the retina. The myopic defect can be corrected by the use of a concave lens of suitable power. It is caused by excessive curvature of the eye.
