Detailed Solution

The above statement is true. On learning about the massacre, Rabindranath Tagore expressed the pain and anger of the country by renouncing his knighthood.
On April 13, 1919, a massacre occurred at Jallianwala Bagh. At the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab, a sizable crowd had peacefully assembled to demonstrate against the Rowlatt Act. A few villagers came together to celebrate Baisakhi. General Dyer surrounded the demonstrators because martial law was imposed. Although many villagers were unaware of martial law, Dyer instructed his soldiers to fire at the crowd. The soldiers continued to fire until they ran out of ammunition. Many nationalists, including Tagore, were angered by this tragedy.
