The silk is obtained from silk moths. Animal Fibre is a natural fibre that is obtained from animals. For example, silk is a fibre. It is obtained from silk moths. A silk moth lays about 300-400 eggs at a time. Then, silkworms emerge, and this stage is known as the larval stage. They feed on mulberry leaves and secrete fine filaments from the two glands on their head. Next, they secrete filaments around them which completely covers them and is known as a cocoon. The cocoon is put into boiling water to loosen the filaments and obtain the silk fibres.
