Carbon disulphide evaporates at room temperature. The vapour is twice heavier as air. It explodes in the air easily and catches fire. In nature, a very small amount of carbon disulphide is found as a gas. Because it quickly changes into solid sulphur at normal temperature and pressure, this is called evaporation of carbon disulphide.
