Is it true that the animals obtain the stored nitrogen by eating the plants or other animals?

The nitrogen cycle is the process that explains the transfer of nitrogen between the atmosphere, soil, and organisms. Nitrogen present in the air is taken and fixed in the soil, which is taken up by the plants. When plants die, these compounds are transferred back to the soil as they decompose. The nitrogen is transferred to the herbivorous animals when they eat these plants and to omnivorous animals when they eat other animals and when these animals die the nutrient is transferred back to the soil.
