We are given that the length of one side of a rectangle is 48m and its diagonal is 50m.
To find the area of the plot we need to find the other side.
We can find this using Pythagoras theorem because the angles of a rectangle are 90 degrees.
So, just like the figure below where a=48m and c=50m, we have to find b.

c 2 = a 2 + b 2

502 = 482 + b 2

b 2 = 502 − 482

b 2 = 2500 − 2304

b 2 = 196

b = 14 c m

Now, the length of the plot is 48m and the breadth is 14m, so the area of the plot is
