Lawyers, headteachers, and teachers resigned from their jobs, and students left universities to participate in the Non-Cooperation movement. They started boycotting foreign goods and clothes and burnt them as a protest. Indians started wearing and accepting Khadi. The boycott movement also spread to other regions of India, like Assam, Andhra Pradesh, and Awadh.
