Detailed Solution

The above statement is true. The Dandi March marked the beginning of the Civil Disobedience Movement.
When Irwin rejected his eleven demands, Mahatma Gandhi embarked on his salt march with 78 of his loyal volunteers. The March covered more than 240 kilometers in 24 days between Gandhiji's ashram in Sabarmati to the coastal town of Dandi in Gujarat. Wherever he went, crowds of people flocked to hear Mahatma Gandhi speak. He explained what swaraj meant and urged them to resist the British in a non-violent manner. He arrived in Dandi on April 6 and ceremonially broke the law by boiling seawater to make salt, and started the Civil Disobedience Movement. Hence, the statement is true.
