The gravitational force between the earth and any body is known as the weight of that body. Weight is the behaviour of the force of gravity acting on a body. The formula for weight is definite by W=mg, where m=mass of the object and g=acceleration due to gravity
As weight is a force its SI unit is the same as that of force, the SI unit of weight is Newton (N). Weight can be zero. As in any environment, if no gravity acts upon a body, its weight becomes zero. Weight is a vector quantity.  It has magnitude and is directed toward the centre of the Earth or other gravity well.
