 Law of conservation of momentum:
“For two or more bodies in an isolated system acting upon each other, their total momentum remains constant unless an external force is applied. Therefore, momentum can neither be created nor destroyed”. A rocket ejects gases from one end at a very high velocity. The gases escape at a very high speed, which amounts to huge momentum. The body of the rocket is pushed forward due to the principle of conservation of momentum. The sum of the momentum of the gases and that of the rocket is zero.
