Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
The Non-cooperation movement was withdrawn mainly because of the Chauri Chaura incident at Chauri Chaura in Gorakhpur district of United Province on 4th February 1922. A violent mob set fire to a police station that killed twenty-two police officers during a clash between the police and protesters. Mahatma Gandhi decided to call off the Non-cooperation movement in February 1922 as he thought the movement turned violent in many places after the Chauri Chaura incident. Gandhi felt the need to train the Satyagrahis properly before they would be ready for mass struggles. Hence, the statement is true.
