Condensation is the process of conversion of gases to liquids on cooling. Low temperature and high pressure are the conditions required for condensation. So, when water vapour hits a cold surface, it loses its energy and gets converted into liquid droplets. During rainfall, water vapour condenses to form small droplets which cause rain. In contrast, evaporation is the process of conversion of a liquid into its vapour state on heating. Drying of clothes takes place due to evaporation. So, condensation is the opposite of evaporation.
