Eggs laid by female silk moths are kept under ideal conditions with proper hygiene. The silkworms' larvae hatch from these eggs and grow by feeding on mulberry leaves. The spinning of cocoons by silkworms starts after a few days. These are then boiled to separate silk fibres which are further spun into threads.
