The second law of reflection states that “the incident ray, the normal to the surface at the point of incidence and the reflected ray all lie in the same plane.”
Incident ray:
An incident ray is a straight-lined ray of light that strikes a surface, known as an incident ray on that surface
Reflected ray:
The incident ray bouncing back in the same medium after hitting the reflecting surface (plan or smooth) is called the reflected ray.
Therefore the direction of reflected rays can be determined from the second law of reflection.
