According to Archimedes' principle, when a body is immersed partially or completely in a liquid, it experiences an upthrust called buoyant force, equal to the weight of the liquid displaced by it. As weight(W) is the product of the volume of the liquid(V), acceleration due to gravity(g), and the density of the liquid(ρ). mathematically,
weight= volume×g×Density 
     W= Vgρ
From the above formula we can say that upthrust depends on the density of the liquid.
