Detailed Solution

The above statement is True.
The vocal cords and larynx of our body vibrate when we speak.
We know that, in humans, sound is formed by the voice box or larynx. Two vocal cords are present across the larynx which is stretched in such a way that it leaves space between them for the air to pass. When we speak, the muscles of the larynx get stretched and the opening becomes narrow. When air is made to pass through the slit, the vocal cords vibrate and hence sound is produced by them. As the slit becomes narrower, the volume of sound becomes higher.
