Is it true that transpiration takes place through stomata?

Transpiration takes place through the stomata. which are small openings on the surface of leaves. The opening and closing of the stomata regulate the transpiration process. It keeps the cell turgid, cools the surface of the leaves, and helps in the movement of minerals from the soil to different parts of the plant.
